5 questions to ask yourself at the start of the year.
Here are the five life questions perfect for users of the My 360° Life Planner to reflect on at the start of the year. Each question is designed to prompt deep reflection, set clear intentions, and inspire purposeful action.
What does success look like to me in each of the eight key areas of my life this year?
This question encourages you to clearly define your vision of success and balance, providing a personal roadmap for the year. It helps you focus on what truly matters in areas like health, career, relationships, and personal growth, ensuring you pursue goals aligned with your values and aspirations.
What are my top three priorities for this year, and why are they important to me?
Identifying key priorities prevents you from becoming overwhelmed and ensures your energy is focused on what will make the biggest impact. Understanding the “why” behind each priority strengthens your motivation and commitment.
What challenges or obstacles might I face, and how can I prepare to overcome them?
Anticipating potential setbacks builds resilience and helps you develop strategies to navigate challenges effectively. It fosters a problem-solving mindset and reduces the likelihood of being derailed by unexpected situations.
What habits or behaviours do I want to build, improve, or let go of this year?
Habits shape outcomes. Reflecting on behaviours allows you to identify actions that will support your goals and remove those that no longer serve you. This question helps create a foundation for sustainable growth and positive change.
What is one thing I can commit to that will bring me closer to my best self by the end of the year?
This question simplifies self-improvement by narrowing the focus to one transformative action. It empowers you to take meaningful, consistent steps toward personal growth and ensures you feel a sense of accomplishment by year’s end.
How to Use the My 360-Degree Life Wheel to Achieve Balance
The Wheel of Life™
Originally developed by Paul J. Meyer, The Wheel of Life™ is a powerful self-assessment tool commonly used in coaching and personal development. It visually represents your life divided into key areas, typically eight, such as career, relationships, health, finances, personal growth, fun and recreation, environment, and contribution. These areas are mapped as spokes on a wheel, with a scale (often 0-10) radiating from the centre outward.
The purpose of the Wheel of Life™ is to help individuals evaluate their satisfaction in each area and identify imbalances that may be holding them back. A “balanced wheel” symbolizes a harmonious life, while an uneven one highlights areas needing more attention.
Inspired by the concept of The Wheel of LifeTM, the My 360° Life Wheel mirrors this approach by evaluating eight fundamental life areas, it empowers you to take a panoramic view of your life, identifying areas that require attention to restore balance. Here are the steps to take for your balanced life:
1: Identify Your Key Life Areas
Adapt the wheel to reflect the areas most important to you. While the typical categories are provided, feel free to customize them to suit your priorities.
2: Rate Each Area
On a scale of 0 (lowest) to 10 (highest), rate your current level of satisfaction or achievement in each area. Be honest with yourself to get an accurate picture.
3: Visualize Your Wheel
Connect the scores around the wheel to create a visual representation of your life. Is it balanced? Are there clear highs and lows?
3: Reflect on the Results
Identify which areas need more focus and consider how improving them could positively impact your overall balance and well-being.
4: Set Specific Goals
Choose one or two areas to prioritize each week or month. Set specific, actionable goals to enhance your satisfaction in these areas. For example, if your “Health” score is low, you might aim to exercise three times a week or improve your nutrition.
5: Take Consistent Action
Dedicate time and effort to your chosen areas. Regularly revisit your Wheel of Life™ to track progress and reassess priorities as your life evolves.
6: Celebrate Progress
Acknowledge improvements, even small ones. Progress, not perfection, is key to achieving balance and fulfillment.
By using My 360-Degree Life Wheel as a guide, you can create a more intentional and balanced approach to personal growth and well-being.
